Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Oryx DTR's direct-to-retail platform for manufacturers and retailers.

What does "Direct-to-Retail" mean?
Direct-to-Retail means retailers buy directly from manufacturers instead of through distributors. Oryx DTR provides the infrastructure that makes this model operationally viable at scale.
Who is Oryx DTR built for?
Oryx DTR is built for manufacturers that sell wholesale and want direct retailer relationships, stronger margin control, and modern infrastructure for catalog, ordering, and settlement workflows. It is also built for retailers that want a cleaner, more reliable way to work directly with brands.
Is Oryx DTR designed for firearms and regulated products?
Yes. Oryx DTR is built with regulated industries in mind, including firearms and accessories, and supports license-based access and compliance-aware workflows.
How does ordering work?
Oryx DTR supports both dropship and direct wholesale ordering. For dropship orders, a retailer sells to a customer through their own e-commerce storefront, and the order is routed to the manufacturer for fulfillment. For direct wholesale orders, retailers place orders through Oryx DTR's unified ordering portal.
Who handles fulfillment and shipping?
Manufacturers remain responsible for fulfilling wholesale and dropship orders, typically using their existing DTC or internal fulfillment workflows. Oryx DTR does not operate fulfillment or act as a distributor.
How do payments and settlements work?
Oryx DTR tracks orders, fees, and balances in a unified ledger and automates settlement based on the manufacturer's configured terms. Settlements are primarily handled via ACH.
Does Oryx DTR replace distributors?
No. Oryx DTR does not replace distributors. It enables direct, automated connectivity between manufacturers and retailers who choose to work together directly.
Does Oryx DTR replace my e-commerce platform?
No. Oryx DTR connects to your existing e-commerce platform. Your storefront, checkout, and customer experience remain unchanged.
Does Oryx DTR replace my ERP or fulfillment tools?
No. Oryx DTR is designed to work alongside existing ERPs, OMS, WMS, and fulfillment tools. It does not replace them.
How much does it cost for manufacturers?
Manufacturer plans start at $699 per month. Automated dropship orders incur a small percentage-based platform fee on wholesale volume.
How much does it cost for retailers?
Oryx DTR is free for retailers. Manufacturers cover platform costs.
How do I get access as a manufacturer?
Manufacturers apply for access to Oryx DTR. Applications are reviewed to ensure technical fit, operational readiness, and alignment with the platform.
How long does onboarding typically take?
Most manufacturers complete onboarding in days. Timing depends on catalog size, platform complexity, and how quickly pricing, shipping, and settlement details are finalized.
Is there a minimum commitment?
No. There are no long-term commitments required. You can start, expand, or adjust your participation as your business needs evolve.
Can I start with a subset of products or partners?
Yes. Most teams start with a limited set of SKUs or partners and expand over time. You control when and how you scale.
