For Manufacturers

What does “Direct-to-Retail” mean?
Direct-to-Retail means retailers buy directly from manufacturers instead of through distributors. Oryx DTR is the infrastructure that makes that model operational at scale — catalog, ordering, regulated-industry workflows, and settlement in one place.
Is Oryx DTR designed for regulated products?
Yes. Oryx DTR is built for regulated industry workflows and supports license-based access for license-gated product categories.
Does Oryx DTR replace distributors?
No. Oryx DTR does not replace distributors. It gives manufacturers and retailers a direct, automated way to work together when they choose to.
Does Oryx DTR replace my e-commerce platform?
No. Oryx DTR connects to your existing e-commerce platform. Your storefront, checkout, and customer experience stay in place.
Does Oryx DTR replace my ERP or fulfillment tools?
No. Oryx DTR works alongside existing ERPs, OMS, WMS, and fulfillment tools. It does not replace them.
Who is Oryx DTR built for?
Manufacturers that sell wholesale and want direct retailer relationships, cleaner catalog and order flow, and modern infrastructure for pricing, regulated-industry workflows, and settlement.
Is Oryx DTR a fit for small brands or only large ones?
Both. Emerging brands and established operators use the same platform. It scales with volume and operational complexity.
How does ordering work?
Oryx DTR supports dropship and direct wholesale. For dropship, a retailer sells through their own storefront and the order routes to the manufacturer for fulfillment. For wholesale, retailers place stock orders through a unified portal using the manufacturer’s configured pricing and terms.
Who handles fulfillment and shipping?
Manufacturers fulfill wholesale and dropship orders on their existing workflows. Oryx DTR does not warehouse inventory or act as a distributor. Inventory, pricing, and dealer relationships stay with the manufacturer.
How do payments and settlements work?
Oryx DTR tracks orders, fees, and balances on a unified ledger and settles on the manufacturer’s configured terms. Settlements are primarily ACH. Credit card is available; standard processing fees apply when a retailer pays by card.
What does Oryx DTR not do?
Oryx DTR is not the merchant of record, does not set your prices, does not warehouse or ship inventory, and does not replace your commerce or fulfillment stack. You own the relationship. Oryx makes the workflow run.
How much does it cost for manufacturers?
Manufacturer plans start at $699 per month. Automated dropship orders incur a small percentage-based platform fee on wholesale volume.
How do I get access as a manufacturer?
Request a demo. We review technical fit, operational readiness, and alignment with the platform. If it’s a fit, we schedule a walkthrough and outline next steps.
What determines whether my demo request leads to access?
Current commerce stack, willingness to keep catalog and inventory standardized in that system, and the shape of the existing dealer network.
How long does onboarding typically take for manufacturers?
Most manufacturers complete onboarding in days. Timing depends on catalog size, platform setup, and how quickly pricing, shipping, and settlement details are confirmed. Catalog and inventory hygiene stay with your team; Oryx connects to what you already run.
What’s required from my team to get started as a manufacturer?
An existing e-commerce platform, a defined product catalog, pricing and shipping rules, and settlement preferences. No platform rebuild.
Do I keep my existing dealer relationships?
Yes. Those relationships stay yours. Oryx gives you a cleaner way to operate them — approvals, catalog access, orders, and settlement — without taking ownership of the account.
Can I choose who I work with on the platform?
Yes. You control which retailers can access your catalog. Retailers choose which manufacturers they work with. Both sides opt in.
Are there long-term contracts?
No long-term contracts. You can start, expand, or adjust participation as the business changes.
Can I start with a subset of products or partners?
Yes. Most teams start with a limited set of SKUs or partners and expand over time.
Can I pause or change my setup later?
Yes. You can pause product availability, adjust pricing rules, or change partner access without ripping out your existing systems.
Can I go live in phases?
Yes. Launch by product line, partner, or workflow and expand when you are ready.
Can I grow into more advanced workflows over time?
Yes. Many teams start with basic dropship routing and add pricing rules, settlement preferences, and broader catalog access as volume grows.
